The motor system enables a human to keep a proper body posture, to change his position and move wherever he wishes. Strong and hard bones, joints and muscles mutually interact with each other forming a strictly bound complexity. Functional disorders or damages in one element of the motor system lead to limitation of motor activity of an entire limb or a torso.
In this case, we cannot overestimate the procedure of immobilization of a limb or a torso with an immobilizing dressing (P.o.P. cast bandages) in order to restore proper function of a damaged part of the motor system.
It should be stressed that improper application of a P.o.P. bandage can lead to skin or soft tissue damages, therefore, it is crucial to protect a limb with tubular bandages and orthopaedic padding before placing a P.o.P. bandage.
